Q: What do you offer at Calphin Aquatic Club?
A: We offer a swim lesson, training and clinic programs suitable for swimmers of all skill levels, from entry level to advanced, to learn or improve their swimming skills. Our goal is for the swimmer to not only learn how to swim for their own safety, but also be able to stay fit and swim competitively coming out of our full programs. We have three locations for swim lessons:

  1. Indoor Facility in Fremont: 34075 Fremont Blvd. Fremont, CA (year-round)
  2. Outdoor Olympic-size Pool in Sunnyvale at Fremont High School: 1279 Saratoga Rd. Sunnyvale, CA (year-round)
  3. Outdoor Pool at the Mission Hills Tennis Club in Fremont: 10 East Las Palmas Ave, Fremont, CA (summer program)

Q: How deep are your pools at Fremont Indoor Facility?
A: Our smaller pool is 20’ x 30’ ranging from 3.5 feet to 4 feet, whereas our large 25 yards, six lane pool ranges from 4 feet to 7 feet.

Q: Are there any life guards on duty?
A: During our lesson hours, every swim class is assigned with one of our trained coaches or instructors. Given that and since the swimmers are grouped into classes by their skill levels and closely monitored by the coach or instructor, a life guard is not required. Nonetheless, we may add a lifeguard in the peak hours from time to time for double safety.

Q: What is the temperature of the water?
A: The small pool is 88F-92F and our large pool is 80F-82F

Q: How do you sanitize and maintain your pools for safe swimming?
A: Currently the facility uses a Chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) based sanitation system to keep the water in both pools extremely sanitary, beyond code requirements.  Along with a continuously flowing standard gravity filtration system, a state of the art UV filter guarantees that every type of microbe introduced to the pool system is very quickly cycled through and dispatched.

Q: What is your refund/cancellation policy?
A: We hold a no refund/no cancellation policy. However we do recognize that there are certain circumstances that require the cancellation of swim classes therefore based on circumstances we may offer a refund or credit towards future lesson tuitions or prepaid membership dues. All refunds are subject to a $20 transaction fee and all registration fees are not refundable.

Q: What happens if my child missed a class?
A: If your child missed a class due to a medical reason, give bring in a doctor's note no later than 2 weeks after the missed class and we will issue club credit that you can use toward the following session. For Fremont Location, if a class is missed due to other reasons such as schedule conflict, self practice will be given for your child to make-up the practice time. There will be no instructor during self pracitce time (Wed 8-9pm, Sun 12-1pm) but there will always be a Lifeguard on duty. Swimmers who are Glider 3 or below will need to have a parent to be in the water to help them our and ensure safety. For Sunnyvale Location, we do offer make-up class if you missed a class, but credit will only be issued with a doctor's note.

Q: Do you have parking at your facility?
A: Yes.  However, due to the popularity of our programs and the limited parking spaces available, our parking lot sometimes fills up very quickly.  However, parking in the Motel 6 lot next door is still prohibited and will be enforced indiscriminately.  All cars belonging to patrons of the Calphin Aquatic Club will be towed immediately at the owner’s expense.
