This ARC Lifeguarding Certification is a full course including AED training, covering both deep and shallow waters. This course will help you develop skills and experience that will be valued by colleges, swim schools, recreational departments and future employers. It's a great way to demonstrate what you can offer. Colleges and employers look for applicants who can deal effectively with people and inccidents, who are willing to learn and develop new skills, and who have a take-charge attitude in an inccidental situation. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for Lifeguards.
Prerequisites
- Minimum age of 15. Must be 15 years old by the last day of the course.

- Precourse Swim Test:
- Swim 300 yards continuously. (100yd freestyle, 100yd breaststroke and 100yd of your choice)
- Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7–10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound brick from 7ft deep water, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the brick and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds.
- Pool access ticket for self-assessment can be purchased upon registration.
