History

Founded in 2003, Calphin grew from offering weekend-only swim classes to owning its 2 large indoor junior Olympic pools in 2008. For 17 years, millions of swim lessons have been delivered. Tens of thousands of swimmers have been trained, from non-swimmers to good wimmers with refined stroke habits, even competitive swimmers for local swim teams and high school varsity teams.

Co-founder Xiaohong Wang, (“Coach Wang”) was an Olympic Silver Medalist for women’s 200 meter butterfly during 1992 summer Olympic Games in Barcelona. She also won the World Swim Championships in women’s 100 and 200 meters butterfly finals in 1991. She brought to Calphin mastery based coaching approach and stroke-refinement methodology.  Hardworking, down to Earth, Coach Wang loves children, swimming, and coaching.

Coach Wang  is a certified Level 4 (Level 5 is for coaching Olympic swimmers) by ASCA.
