Philosophy

  • We believe swimming is a life-saving skill that all kids need to master.
  • We believe swimming as a sport enhances physical and mental fitness.
  • We believe swimming promotes confidence, willpower and enjoyment of life, – all are needed to prepare young people to succeed in a competitive world.

With the Mastery-Based Philosophy distilled from 30 years of training, Calphin Swim Academy has developed its own system and excels in two areas: Learn-To-Swim programs and Stroke-Refinement-Programs, delivered with professionalism, at the best value, in a safe and pleasant indoor environment.

Whether Calphin students want to be competitive racers or just want to enjoy swimming, the goal of Caphin is to help them establish foundational skills in a peer environment.

Founded in 2003 by an Olympian Silver Medalist, Coach Wang and her husband Joseph He,  who has a MBA and computer science degree, they have combined world class swimming and coaching expertise with professional business management. They both share the passion for teaching kids to swim with the right stroke habits early on, and train them to be good swimmers by mastering swimming skills.

Swim Programs

Our programs are designed to serve different levels of swimmers, from non-swimmers to intermediate and competitive swimmers.  Our unique “parallel coaching” method is designed for each swimmer to progress at his/her own level within a group setting, which fosters both peer support and customized learning.

Group Lessons for Youth

  • We emphasize on learning to swim the right way, with right stroke habits early on, with two-pool systems to accommodate beginners, trained swimmers, and racers.
  • Each facility has a small pool for beginners usually ranging from 4 to 9 years old. The larger pool serves intermediate level to advanced swimmers, teen learners and adults.

Group Lessons for Teens

  • For non-swimmer beginners aged 9 – 16 who are just starting to learn how to swim, we have created group lessons for them to be among their own peers.
  • Once they reach intermediate level or above they can join our regular Group Lesson for Youth program.
  • Once they reach competitive level they can join our Elite program.
