“Five stars all the way one of the best places to teach your kids how to swim my kids can swim butterfly now”
“Both my kids have been with Calphin for almost four years now (The younger one for two years). The entire team is extremely professional and even the desk staff is great. The coaches are receptive to any inputs provided and take good care of the kids. Overall the experience has been great. We have seen a lot of improvements over the years. The facilities are clean and the kids have never fallen sick post a swimming class. Thanks, Ted.”
“My kids have been swimming at the Dublin location school for almost 2 years. My little one didn’t know how to swim when we started. After a year, she’s swimming with confidence, freestyle and backstroke. Her favorite is Coach CAL! He’s super nice, really knows how to work with young children, extremely encouraging, and carries a great attitude when speaking with parents of their concerns. (personal experience as I’ve talked to him many times) My older started with knowledge of the 4 strokes and could use a tune up on the technique. The staff are in the water for lower levels and Coach REBECCA really took the time to fix his stroke style and he was able to swim with proper strokes and therefore swim longer without feeling tired. Rebecca is really patient and relentless in making sure the students are swimming properly. She actually holds my son’s arms out and shows him how to pull back on the water, how to turn his body, and holding his legs, shows him how high he should be kicking. I want to especially mention the office staff. The front desk has been friendly every time I ask for a schedule change, or look up my payment status, or ask about upcoming class schedules. They can get busy but they have a system where you take a number and they actually follow the system to call you when it’s your turn. The deck managers are very hard working. They assess the kids towards the end of each 8 weeks session using high standards. Once my kid passes I know she/he has reached a certain level of swimming competence. So I like that. Recently the head of the school helped me assess my child after I expressed some concerns with his progress. After the deck manager looked at my child’s swim strokes, he determined he can progress to the next level. I truly feel they alway think in the best interest of the swimmer. They will never hold the child back or push the child beyond what they believe they are ready for. So far all the teachers we’ve had in Bubbler, Crawler, and Bubbler classes have been great and actually taught both of my kids swim techniques, not just play around in the water. I like the facility where they have individual lanes for each class. Some other swim schools hold classes in a square pool and each class is in a corner. At Calphin my child can actually swim down a lane like in a normal swim team situation. I did wish their bathrooms were a little cleaner, especially the two family bathrooms. They do have swim teams for higher levels. There are complaints of parking. We go right after school and it hasn’t been a problem. There is always a gentleman outside directing traffic so you don’t have to feel like you have to fight someone for a car spot. He knows which car is next and asks you to park in the first spot that freezes up. The classes have a 10-15 mins window in between to give time for parents to leave and the parents for the next session to park.
I would not hesitate to recommend this school to my friends. Some will be joining us this summer for their Sprint sessions. I look forward to seeing how my children grow in their swim skills here.”

“The trainers are so nice and teach you all the basic needs of swimming. They always help you with swimming and after the test you know EXACTLY what level you are in. A well deserving 5 Star Facility.”

“My daughter started her swimming lessons here, and very quickly learnt to be quite comfortable with her swimming. The instructors are very good and friendly with the kids. The class size is also small making it easy for the instructors to focus on the kids. I am really happy and would definitely recommend this place.”

“Very happy to mention that my kids are progressing fast. They are getting individual attention and enjoy coming here.”
“If you ask me, how good is Calphin Aquatic Center fremont?. My answer always will be “The Best”. Both my children are going there and are learning, enjoying each and every bit of their strokes and skills. The experience has been very pleasant, the deck supervisor Victoria , the manager Tong, have always been helpful. Would highly recommend this center.”
“This is a long overdue review of my experience at Calphin. All 3 of my kids took lessons until I felt it was safe enough for them to play in the pool without me watching like a hawk. I really like Calphin and I thought the instructors were very good and professional. They did not pass the student to the next level just because you completed the session. They want to make sure the student met the time, speed before promoting to the next level. My younger one repeated the same course 3 times before she was able to go on bc her time was just a few seconds short. Even though that cost me a lot more money but I didn’t mind because in the long run it was better for her. None of my kids joined swim team after Calphin, when they reach high school they decided to join high school water polo and swim team, even though they stopped lessons in early middle school years, they were able to pick up the swim skills and excel in both sports, even swam faster than kids that have been on swim team since little. I always tell parents that was due to the high quality lessons they learn from Calphin.”
“My kids have taken lessons at Calphin for 5-6 years. Their swim instruction and techniques are very effective in improving the children’s swimming skills. The swim instructors have been teaching for many years and do not have the high turnover like other schools which employ high school students on a temporary basis. The head coach and owner is very approachable and is always open to feedback. Some members at the front desk don’t have the best customer service or communication skills. A small inconvenience. Overall the best swim school in Fremont.”
“Great facilities and friendly coaches and staff. They go above and beyond to help students. No intimidating or rude attitudes.”
“One of the best swim clubs in Bay Area. My kids have been going here for past 3 years and we are very happy with the coaches and the training methods. Highly recommend.”
“I am so happy with Calphin! My daughter has been taking lessons there for the past few weeks and I am amazed at her progress. From not even wanting to go in the water to getting so excited on “swim lesson” day, I couldn’t be happier. Tends to get a little crowded but what do you expect, all the parents are their to watch their kids swim. I love it!”
“I have nothing but praise for the swim instructors. My son is 7 and has been swimming here off and on since October 2010. We use the program to correct his technic and provide him a challenging workout once a week. Yes, the locker room floors need to be cleaned more often during the day, but despite that fact, I will continue to go here for the excellent training and coaching. For all the kids they instruct, they do a great job organizing the kids in and out of the pool. By the way, the kids learn to circle swim in their lane in order to avoid swimming into each other. Also, the kids are all well behaved and eager to learn. Thumbs Up!”
“A great place for someone learning to swim. As an adult learner I was really impressed by the fun, care, and time the coach took to ensure that I was improving.
Coach Ronald made sure my technique was correct and really built up my confidence! I didn’t even want to get in the deep side but now I can cross the entire lane and back!
I’m happy to have the suggestions the Calphin coaches have provided me during my time here, recommend it for adult learners and will provide the same amount of attention to children learning under their care.”
““My daughter has completed 2 intense sessions over the summer and she has progressed into a confident little swimmer. She was always eager to attend because the swim coaches are great and made the sessions fun. This place has many students so parking can be hectic at times and front desk staff may seem overwhelmed but they always answered my questions diligently. My daughter wants to continue her training here and we recommend Calphin to anyone that wants to learn how to be a competent swimmer.”
“I love Calphin! I am an adult swimmer who was looking for a place to teach me better techniques and proper form. Calphin and their coaches have done just that. Coach Wong is terrific along with Coach Moe who really makes you learn the proper strokes. Registration has been easy and they even added a practice swim date on Wednesday’s for those who opt additional practice time. This was based on students request. Amanda is great as well as she is always happy to share a tip. I have taken two sessions so far and will continue to do so. It’s a great workout for me. Don’t know why others are complaining as from my picky standpoint they do an excellent job with the young swimmers, adults and those who are serious athletes.”
“My both kids have been going here since 2-3 yrs. Before they used to go to American Swim Academy , where coaches used to be changing frequently in one session . Here that is not an issue. Me and my husband have also learned swimming here in Adult classes from the start , a really good experience . Staff is caring , professional and friendly . Would highly recommend someone to go to Calphin Aquatic Club for Swim lessons.”
